Growing up near Crofton, I remember scouting for Christmas trees with my family in the nearby wooded area along Lewis and Clark lake. In 1989, a group of golf enthusiasts with a vision, developed the terrain into one of Nebraska's most scenic golf courses. Although you can view the lake from many spots on the Crofton Lakeview course, whole #5 with this amazing view to the west, has become the signature hole.

Our family enjoys hiking and exploring the area and if you are on the Crofton Lakeview Golf course and walk beyond the fifth hole to the edge of the bluff, you'll find this spectacular scene that I titled South Shore.

My home town of Crofton is surrounded by minimum maintenance roads that I enjoy exploring. This one takes you northeast of town. An early morning bike ride brought me to this shadow patched path that I titled "Prairie Trail".

This is a view from my gallery window looking east. One Sunday morning as I was getting ready for church, the sunrise made me stop and run down to the creek for closer observation and photos. Once I finished painting it, our daughter Jenna revealed to me all the particular bends in the creek that she gave special names while playing there as she grew up. I had no idea it would mean so much to her.

This 1920's bridge over Bow Creek which runs through our farm was a popular cottonwood shaded stopping spot. For a time the beavers had this area dammed up enough to allow us to canoe from our home to the bridge. Unfortunately, a recent flood has taken the bridge and one of the large cottonwoods away.

Marne Creek runs through Yankton S.D. While on the Auld-Brokaw trail I ventured off the path just east of Pine Street where I was intrigued by the old concrete bridge. I learned that the rocks in the foreground were placed there years ago, to dam the creek for ice skating in the winter.

I wanted to create a scene that simply shows the heart and soul of the land that we live on. Wide open space and big sky with a setting sun creating colors in the clouds and casting shadows across the land. It gives me a feeling of simple goodness and peace.

This large cottonwood tree grows one mile up the road from where I live. The strong branches with the morning sun rays shining through inspired me to paint this piece. I placed a set of blue birds and their home on the fence in the foreground.

I always had the desire to paint our quiet Country Church in Constance, Ne. After the September 11 attacks I felt that I needed to paint a patriotic scene and it was then that Jeff suggested I finally paint our church. I made the flag prominent with Jeff's Dad, Walter in front with our son, Cole, to represent the older and future generations. It has become my favorite piece of work.

Lewis and Clark on the Missouri -- 1804 is my vision of the way the land and Missour River would have looked during the time that Lewis and Clark had their council with the Sioux Indians along Calumet Bluffs near Yankton, SD on August 29, 1804. Through research and Captain Lewis' drawings, I came up with this image depicting the trees, plants and bluffs where present day Lewis and Clark Lake exists. I wanted to capture the vastness of the area compared to the vessels of Lewis and Clark.

I was comissioned to paint this scene of Lewis and Clark Lake for the Majestic Bluffs senior living and retirement home in Yankton, SD. I wanted to capture a somewhat surreal look with the water crashing against the massive chalkrock bluffs. Does anyone see angels?

The response to this piece has been tremendous. Rattlesnake Road is located near Wynot, NE as you drive down into the Missouri river valley. It is 2 miles of twisting turns tunneling through overhanging trees and dense follage. On an early October day, it is a beautiful drive.
